$25,000 – Program Facility Rental (riding ring)
STARS is looking to rent a working ring so riders can safely learn and practice more advanced riding and horsemanship skills.
$12,000 – Sponsor a STaRS horse
This is the approximate cost per year to keep a horse, and hence a very large expense.
$5,000 – Adaptive Equipment Fund
Adaptive saddles, stirrups, hand holds are included in this fund. Right now we are looking to purchase new bareback pads and rainbow reins.
$900 – Annual Farrier care per horse
STARS horses spent a great deal of time walking on the roads. Their hooves need regular and special care.
$3,000 – Horse Training
This includes the skills that a therapeutic horse needs like standing still at the mounting ramp, being comfortable and safe while led on either side.
$5,000 – Instructor Training
STARS instructors need to be specially trained and certified. They also constantly need to be updating their knowledge and skills.
$1000 – Volunteer Development, Networking and Appreciation activities
